Cities all over the world are undergoing a transformation in mobility, from electric vehicles, autonomous cars, to drones and dockless sharing schemes. Whilst some cities are actively embracing this revolution and taking active steps with regard to future urban mobility, others are struggling to navigate and adapt in this fast-changing arena.  The Urban Mobility Innovation Index (UMii) sponsored by the Roads & Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) and developed by International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in collaboration with Future Cities Catapult as a framework to enable city leaders to improve innovation in the urban mobility arena. This session will showcase UMii as a framework for a discussion on how different actors are enabling cities to take more ambitious steps with regards to urban mobility.

Getting around cities can be a nerve-wracking experience, especially those living with additional needs. In this session, we will reflect on what lies ahead for innovative, inclusive urban mobility.

16:00 Closing Keynote: Innovation-led sustainable growth: a mission-oriented approach

Long-term growth requires innovation. Innovation has both a rate and a direction. That direction can be set through a policy framework that focusses on missions, while using policy instruments to enable bottom up experimentation by multiple actors. The talk will look at how such a mission oriented approach can be used to drive city level economic growth.
