Vincent Stops has been a Hackney councillor representing Hackney Central ward for 16 years. He was the lead member for the environment for his first two years and subsequently became the chair of its planning committee. Vincent has taken an active interest in sustainable and active transport and has contributed to the borough’s record: more people cycle than drive to work in Hackney; it has the highest level of walking of any London borough and the highest rates of new, car-free, development in the U.K.
